Bethany Saldana

Bethany Saldana is a Texas based mom, wife and pediatric dental hygienist. She recently started utilizing art as an outlet to cope with her mental health struggles. Bethany primarily works with acrylic and spray paint, although she is still exploring and experimenting with different mediums. Her goal is for the art she creates to bring love, color and positivity into a world that often times seems dismal. Bethany enjoys spending her free time collecting, customizing and selling designer toys with her husband Eric.  They have a beautiful 12 year old daughter, Mya, who keeps her busy as a “dance mom”. You can find more art from Bethany on her instagram page @bsaldana316.

About Bethany’s work “Shine a Light'“

I wanted this piece to truly “shine a light” on the issue of inequity of AED usage in the female vs male population. My goal was to make it a piece full of color and personality. This AED training device was painted with fluorescent spray paint. Detailed with acrylic fluorescent paint and Posca markers. The shadow box was painted and assembled to showcase the AED, surrounded with a battery powered, LED, blacklight strip. I hope this piece makes people stop and realize the power an AED can have in saving a woman’s life.
